A note on US vs. UK volume

Cups, pints, quarts, gallons, and fluid ounces are all US units here. A US gallon is 3.785 L; an Imperial (UK) gallon is 4.546 L. If you're following a UK recipe, expect about 20% more volume per 'pint'.
